EOABW has started a self-care challenge for the month of August. 30 days of self-care. Sounds good right? This self-care challenge will be successful if you dedicate time to yourself each day.
The 30 Day Self-Care Challenge was created so that your needs become a priority to yourself and you pick up healthy habits along the way. The goal is to provide yourself with some TLC.
Each day starting August 2 -31 put a letter, or heart, on the calendar for the self-care activity you completed. For any one that tags us on Instagram @eoabw and use the hashtag #eoabwchallenge for at least 15 days (half of 30), will be entered into a drawing to win a free gift. This is to document your progress and accountability.
Below are the activities for you to track to be consistent.
S - Get a good night’s sleep.
How much sleep do you get a night? It is recommended by the Natural Institute of Aging that adults get between 7-9 hours of sleep each night. An ongoing lack of sleep can cause various health problems such as depression and diabetes.
E - Exercise for 30 minutes.
Exercise helps us with weight management, improves our heart health, reduces anxiety and depression, and much more. Dedicating some time to exercise regularly will help you stay fit and healthy.
L - Learn something new.
Trying something new can be exciting and fulfilling. You may fall in love with a new hobby and/or you may learn something new that might change your life. You won't know unless you try.
F - Do something fun.
As adults, we sometimes get lost in our careers, families, and our struggles. How often do you actually have fun where you can let loose and be yourself. Have fun at the expense of yourself.
C - Center yourself.
When we are not centered, we may often feel lost and out of touch with ourselves. Take time to find peace and calm within the chaos.
A - Recite affirmations.
Reciting positive affirmations helps boost your confidence and release fear, anxiety, and negativity. Think positive about yourself and improve the quality of your life.
R - Relax.
Busy much? Take some time to actually relax, it can make a huge difference in how you feel. Relaxing lowers your heart rate and decreases insomnia, depression, and anxiety.
E - Eat a healthy meal.
Nourish to Flourish. Eating foods that are good for your body help with your overall help. Keep away from the junk.
Heart - Other self-care activity.
You don't have to limit yourself to what's on the chart. If you find another self-care activity to indulge in put a heart instead of a letter.
